It’s understood the father of one, who was in his 30s, died at a house party in Bessbrook, Co Armagh, yesterday morning.

“On behalf of our community we send condolences to his family.”

SDLP Assembly Member Justin Mcnulty said there was a high police presence at Acorn

Hill in the village yesterday.

He told the Mirror: “It’s a complete shock for what is a quiet, close-knit community.

“This is the second tragedy to hit the general area in a week and my thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected.”

Acorn Hill is just four miles from the apartment where Gisella Irina Marimon-herrera and her daughter Allison were found dead in a murder-suicide involving Gisella’s partner Russell Steele.

Mr Mccabe’s was originally from nearby Camlough and has a young daughter.

Ulster Unionist Councillor David Taylor said: “The tragic death of this young man will come as a great shock to everyone.

“My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this extremely difficult time as they come to terms with their sudden loss.”

Sinn Fein Councillor Roisin Mulgrew added Mr Mccabe’s family is “well-respected” in the area.

She said: “This is terrible news. The police are currently carrying out investigations to the circumstances of this well known young man’s death, and anyone who may be able to help those investigations should do so.

“This is dreadful news for the family of the young man.

The defendant, 42, will appear in front of Belfast Magistrates Court today accused of killing 53-year-old Alice Morrow at her home in the east of the city last Sunday. Police said she died from an alleged assault at the house at Whincroft

Way between noon and 8pm. Appealing for help yesterday Chief Insp Peter Montgomery said: “At 8.45pm on Saturday Alice travelled from Belvoir to Ballyduff where she visited friends.

“She drove her car, a silver Peugeot 106, registration FCZ 1913.

“She was last seen on CCTV at 2.52am at Brackenvale Eurospar on Saintfield Road and then headed in the direction of Belfast.
