I’M STAYING FOR OUR 9 IN A ROW

Player of month Ed is a happy Bhoy

ODSONNE EDOUARD insists he is going nowhere as he focuses on leading Celtic to nine in a row.

The French U21 striker has been linked with a £30million move to Napoli with Borussia Dortmund and Monaco also interested.

Edouard became Celtic’s record signing last summer when he penned a four-year contract after joining from PSG in a £9m deal.

And he was named Ladbrokes player of the month yesterday ahead of a return to his homeland for the Europa League group stage opener against Rennes tomorrow.

Edouard confessed he is flattered to be linked with some of the biggest clubs on the continent but all talk of his future is on hold until the end of the season at the very least.

Celtic are going for a recordequalling nine successive titles but he refuses to look much beyond the end of May.

Edouard said: “I’m very aware of how important this is for Celtic.

“This is my third season here so I have been part of this and I want to be part of it because it’s really important for me as well to achieve that. Each player has his own career, his own path.

“At the moment I am here, I’ve got a long contract, I’m enjoying what I’m doing, I really like it here in Glasgow.”

Celtic head to Rennes today hoping to secure only their second away win on the road in the group stage of the Europa League since the competition format changed a decade ago.

Edouard added: “I watch the French championship regularly and Rennes are a good team. They are waiting for us.

It is not going to be easy but we will also be ready.”
