HENRY VOTES FOR BUZZING U’S TO GO UP

- BY NEIL MCLEMAN

toe-to-toe screaming match over which area of the pitch they were allowed on to warm down.

Midfielder Henry, whose goals came either side of one from Cameron Brannagan, has now scored seven in six games and said: “We are heading in the right direction as a club.

“It’s not just the team, but the club are trying to do the right things and hopefully that will see us into the Championship. We have got a certain style.”

Robinson, who smoothed over his row in a chat with Rovers boss Darren Moore, insisted: “I’m sorry, but these people mean so much to me. They work their socks off and make the best possible pitch for us to play on. When we win like this, the groundsman, the stewards, the women in the ticket office, everyone has a right to be mentioned and I don’t like it when people disrespect staff.”

Henry’s deflected shot gave Oxford a deserved half-time lead, while Brannagan slotted home the second.

When Henry converted a penalty awarded for handball against Tom Anderson, there was no way back for Doncaster, who are now without a win in four matches.

Moore admitted: “It was a bad day for us and we needed to show more aggression.” THE new Southend boss will need to take “drastic action” when he is appointed this week, according to caretaker boss Gary Waddock.

Shrimpers chairman Ron Martin will reveal his choice on Thursday, with Henrik Larsson and Sol Campbell the leading candidates.

But if the Sweden superstar or the England legend had witnessed this latest embarrassing defeat they would be having second thoughts about becoming the fourth permanent manager in under two years at Roots Hall.

Finnish Under-21 star Marcus Forss scored a hat-trick for AFC Wimbledon and Ryan Delaney headed home against a shambolic team which has already lost 13 games this season. Waddock (above), who took over from Kevin Bond last month, said: “The results will tell you it will be a big task for the new manager.

“Whoever takes over the reins, there has got to be some drastic action to turn this around. Action needs to be taken because of the results.”

Southend goalscorer Timothee Dieng admitted his team-mates were looking forward to learning the name of their next boss.

“Obviously it is good that some big names are interested in taking charge of a club like would be exciting.

But at the end of the day, it is what that man will bring to us and to the team

“It is a big challenge for whoever is going to come. If he does well, that will be a good thing for him and for the club. That is a win-win.” Flying Finn Forss (right) netted his first senior hat-trick in front of his family after getting permission to miss Under-21 duty.

But the on-loan Brentford striker has his sights on playing in the full Finland team with his pal Teemu Pukki, the in-form Norwich City striker.

“I know Teemu well, we are friends, we speak and it is nice to see him doing so well in the Premier League,” said Forss.

“That inspires me. Hopefully I will be able to play in the senior international team as well alongside Teemu – that would be a good dream.”
