I will shut up those doubters

- BY GARETH FULLERTON

CARL FRAMPTON would love to win another world title to silence the doubters who believe his career is on the slide.

The 32-year-old returns to action when he fights American Tyler Mccreary in Las Vegas, his first bout since losing to Josh Warrington last December.

The plan is for the North Belfast boxer to take on Mccreary before challenging for another world title in 2020 either at featherweight or super-featherweight.

Frampton hasn’t held a world belt since losing to Leo Santa Cruz in January 2017, the last time he fought in Sin City.

“I want it so much. I am 32 and I know what people are saying about me – that I’m done and over the hill,” Frampton told IFLTV. “I was flying in that last camp before I hurt my hand, it went perfect and I felt great.

“I’d love to win a world title just to say, ‘F*** you all’. People don’t expect me to win it but I and the people around me do.”

Frampton was due to return in August but was forced out of his bout with Emmanuel Dominguez after suffering a freak injury.

But he insists he is firmly back on track ahead of his November 30 date with Mccreary.

“The hand feels fine. I am seeing a specialist in the next few days and I should get the all clear,” he added.

But the Jackal accepts if he is loses then his career will be finished.

“If I lose, I am done. I can say that, I won’t box again,” he said. “But I am not even thinking about that. I am thinking about winning this fight and another world title.”
