DON’T BE LATE FOR TRAINING UNDER LAMPARD:IT WILL COST YOU £20,000!

-

FRANK LAMPARD is keeping a tight grip on the Chelsea dressing room with a series of eye-watering fines.

Blues players are docked £20,000 if they are late for training and £500 a minute if they fail to show up on time for a team meeting.

Lampard (right) has also banned agents from the training ground, unless they are on official business, in a major clampdown.

And his iron fist is clearly having an impact with Chelsea third in the Premier League after six wins in a row. Club insiders insist that timekeeping and discipline

have not been a problem this season since the system was introduced.

A full list of fines, some of which are higher than those imposed by past Blues managers, hangs framed on a wall at the training ground.

And they are doubled if not paid within 14 days, with all funds going to charities and team activities.

Included in the list is a £1,000 fine for any first-team player whose phone rings during a team meeting or meal.

And any Chelsea star late for treatment, medical appointments or to board the team bus on a matchday is hit for £2,500. Failure to report an injury or illness ahead of a day off, or within 90 minutes of training, is punishable with a fine of £10,000.

Reporting in the wrong kit for team travel or matchdays will cost any Blues player guilty of the offence £1,000.

And any squad member who wants to invite friends or family to watch training needs to get the manager’s permission 24 hours in advance.

Lampard is understood to be cracking the whip on punctuality because he believes it is essential in building respect among the squad.

Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham – who is in the

England squad this week – were both on target at the weekend as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-0.
