ALFIE Allen has paid tribute to his fellow Game Of Thrones actor who died suddenly.

Andrew Dunbar’s funeral will be held today after he passed away at his East Belfast home on Christmas Eve.

Alfie said he was “shocked” by news of the death of his stage double in the TV show.

The 33-year-old, who played Theon Greyjoy in the hit HBO drama, said: “Andrew was an actor who was also a stand-in as Theon on GOT.

“Extremely shocked and saddened to hear of his passing.

“To lose a loved one so young, I can only imagine what his family are going through. RIP Andrew xxx.”

Andrew also stepped in for photoshoots by Helen Sloan, the principal stills photographer for the show, and also had roles in Line of Duty and Derry Girls, as well as being a much- loved DJ and artist.

Pamela Smyth, head of crowd make-up in Game Of Thrones, said: “Even among the thousands of extras that came through the crowd room on Thrones – Andrew stood out.

“Always professional and mannerly with a big beaming smile. A beautiful soul – he will be missed by all the GOT family.”

A spokesperson for The Extras Dept said: “To say we are shocked and saddened at Andrew’s passing is an understatement.

“He was so versatile we could cast him in anything, he was such a talented performer he would always end up being featured, and he was so adored that he was always requested by productions again and again.

“He’ll be remembered in his roles as a Stark and Theon Greyjoy’s double on Game of Thrones, a corrupt police officer on Line of Duty, the poor fella cornered by Colum on Derry Girls, and a Rebel on Krypton to name a few.

“But most of all he’ll be remembered by his kind soul and infectious personality. Thank you for all you did for us Andrew.”

Andrew, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, will be mourned today at Ballywillan Presbyterian Church in his home town of Portrush, Co Antrim. Anyone who needs to talk to someone about mental health issues can call the Samaritans on 116123 or Lifeline on 0808 808 8000.
