Academy Award bosses love a good surprise and 2020’s dash of the unexpected arrived in the form of Eminem who performed 17 years after he won a gong for hit tune Lose Yourself.

Back in 2003, his collaborat­or Luis Resto accepted the award — from Barbra Streisand, no less — as Eminem stayed home, not expecting to win. But some people not clued up on Oscar history, were left bemused as to why a controvers­ial rapper like Eminem was spitting out an expletive-riddled old tune at such a fancy ceremony.

On Monday, the Mirror published pictures of married winner Kelvin Fletcher going for late-night drinks last Saturday – one at 3.35am, the other at 11pm the next night – with his Strictly dance partner Oti Mabuse, also married. On Tuesday, Kelvin’s wife Liz appeared to unfollow him on social media and remove her wedding ring as sources said she was “fuming” at his “gallivanti­ng”.

Come Thursday, Oti looked Strictly delighted to be reunited with hubby Marius Lepure after he flew in from Germany.

Kelvin, meanwhile, took a spin in a flash new car with Liz, although an onlooker said: “The car put a smile on Kelvin’s face but Liz looked like she has had better weeks.”

Question to partners of those wanting to go on Strictly: HAVE YOU NOT SEEN DIRTY DANCING??? It’s only ever going one way.

I’m sure she can jazz it up for her performanc­e at next week’s Brits, but in the meantime can someone bring back Dame Shirley Bassey? Diamonds are forevaaaaa­r.
