FARKE: REDS WIN WILL TOP CITY SUCCESS

- BY JON WEST

DANIEL FARKE says Norwich beating Liverpool would be “a step above” their win over Manchester City earlier in the season.

The Canaries host Jurgen Klopp’s champions elect in 20th place and with just four wins compared to Liverpool’s astonishing 24 out of 25.

One of those rare successes came in September when Pep Guardiola’s champions lost 3-2 at Carrow Road.

That was a mighty shock given City were 18 unbeaten in the league and freshly promoted Norwich had almost a whole team out injured.

But that is now seen as where it started to unravel for City, as Liverpool quickly replaced them as undisputed

Premier League top dogs.

Farke (right) said: “I would love after the game to be in a situation to judge whether beating

Liverpool was better than Man

City! Liverpool, with 24 wins and just one draw, would be one step above Man City.

“But that doesn’t take anything away from the glory of the Man City game. We know that everyone has to be at the top level if we are to have any chance.

“Each and every player has to be, and every staff member too – even the public announcer at the stadium, to get the crowd going.

“One per cent less in any detail we have no chance but with 100 per cent we can create something special.”

Klopp praised his fellow German before the game and Norwich are seen as one of the best basement dwellers the league has seen.

Farke admitted he wished the chat had a slightly different slant though.

He said: “I would prefer people to be saying we are playing the best position for a team in position 17.”
