Artists draw first blood in Lewis battle

- BY ALEX REID

LEWIS Hamilton has lost the first round of a battle with artists who live near his £18million mansion.

They claimed extending his pile and rebuilding a summer house would darken their workspace.

The six-times Formula One world champ had lodged two plans in Kensington, West London.

But the neighbours objected, telling Kensington and Chelsea council: “Our working and living conditions would be seriously disturbed.”

Another local said: “It is the council’s duty to protect whatever tranquility and wildlife the borough has left.”

Plans for the summer house have been withdrawn. The council is yet to decide on plans to extend the Victorian mansion.

UNDERDOGS Joe Swash and Alex Murphy are all smiles after being named Dancing on Ice champions in one of the most dramatic finals yet.

The favourite, Diversity dancer Perri Kiely, performed a stunning backflip in one of his routines with Vanessa Bauer.

And all three finalists, including Paralympian Libby Clegg with her pro Mark Hanretty, scored perfect marks.

Phillip Schofield joked about the leaderboard: “How do I make my way through this?”co-host Holly Willoughby said: “I like this.

Shall we just call it here?

Call it a triple-way draw.”

Libby came third after the public vote on the ITV1 show, and the lads went on to skate their Boleros.

Actor Joe’s son Harry, his girlfriend Stacey Solomon and baby Rex cheered his win... bet their tummies were doing backflips.
