JOSE MOURINHO has issued a humbling apology over his Tottenham public fitness session.

The Spurs boss is understood to have been spoken to by the club after he was pictured in public with Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon (left).

Mourinho has admitted he got it wrong over the social distancing guidelines, promised to follow advice in future and urged the public to do the same. He said: “I accept that

my actions were not in line with government protocol and we must only have contact with members of our own household.

“It is vital we all play our part and follow advice in order to support our heroes in the NHS and save lives.”

Mourinho offered to do some work with Ndombele (above) to help the midfielder during the lockdown.

They live near to Hadley Common in north London where the pictures were taken. Ndombele has struggled to settle into English football and

Mourinho has been keen to help him.

Sanchez and Sessegnon also live nearby and were pictured jogging together. Although running closely sideby-side caused concern, they did not take part in the session with Ndombele.

A Tottenham spokesperson said: “All of our players have been reminded to respect social distancing when exercising outdoors.”

Mourinho has already earned praise during the lockdown for volunteering to make deliveries to the elderly and vulnerable for a charity in north London.

Spurs have been criticised after furloughing staff but have also been doing work in the community during the lockdown.
