WE HAVE EVIDENCE SHE IS DEAD

Prosecutor: We don’t have body but need to search where suspect lived

THERE is “some evidence” that the new Madeleine Mccann suspect “did the deed,” prosecutors say.

UK tourists were urged to tell police of addresses linked to Christian Brueckner.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said: “We can target these places.”

A PROSECUTOR in the Madeleine Mccann case says he believes she is dead and has “some evidence that the suspect did the deed”.

German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters called for British tourists and expats in Portugal to identify Christian Brueckner’s various homes so police can launch searches for Madeleine.

He believes there are other British victims of sex attacks and has urged them to contact police. He said: “The hard evidence we don’t have, we don’t have the crucial evidence of Madeline Mccann’s body.

“We expect that she is dead, but we don’t have enough evidence that we can get a warrant for our suspect. At the moment we also don’t have enough proof for a trial, but we have some evidence that the suspect has done the deed.

“That’s why we need more information from people, especially places he has lived so we can target these places especially and search there for Madeleine.”

It came as more shocking details of Brueckner’s life emerged in his home city of Braunschweig. It was claimed he beat up his 17-year-old girlfriend after she found child abuse images on his computer.

Pal Lenta Johlitz, 34, told the Mirror the girlfriend, who we are choosing not to name, is still “very afraid” of her ex even now he is in a top-security jail in Germany for sex and drug offences.

She said: “He put her in hospital because she found some pictures of children on his laptop and she wanted to talk to him about them.

“He strangled her, she was black and blue everywhere. After that she ended the relationship. She did not tell the police about the pictures. She was very afraid, even now, she is very afraid.”

Lenta said she was concerned when he began dating the teenager. She said: “She was 17, he was 37. She was very small, very slim like a child. They were together for one-anda-half years.

“When he drank he became very aggressive, otherwise he was good fun, always there when you needed him.

“But if something happened that he didn’t like he became very angry.” It came as it emerged a former worker at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz where Madeleine went missing in 2007, aged three, will escape prosecution despite reportedly tipping off Brueckner about the family’s movements.

The ex-staffer told him the Mccanns left valuables in their flat while having long dinners outside.

Former German federal judge Thomas Fischer said yesterday Madeleine may still be alive, and the suggestion she was murdered is just “investigators’ hypothesis”.

We expect that she’s dead.. we need more information
