It’s amazing to see what people are looking to change in their homes. I am fully booked for the next two weeks. Customers are looking at new ways to work from home. Before lockdown, we were working on a lot of open-plan kitchen-dining areas. Now customers want more of a private space where they can work and do video calls without disturbing the rest of the family.
The spare room is finally coming into its own as a study, and customers are looking for a space they can feel confident about when doing video calls.
It’s wonderful to be back doing what I love the most – helping people change their homes. needs of customers at home during lockdown.
Across the company, 2,000 appointments have already taken place. Customers book a time slot at johnlewis.com and then I do a one-hour consultation with them to figure out what they’re looking for. I produce a mood board of ideas, which I email to them.
I live with my husband in an apartment in South West London with big windows – it’s a very minimalist and open-plan home. The decor is mostly neutral tones, but with accents of colour which I change seasonally.
I keep looking at my floors, which are wooden and very tired and burnt from the sun, so I would love to replace them with a hardwearing floor.
My husband and I are keen cyclists and I quite often find when I get home, the work surfaces are covered in bike parts.
I’d like to build in some storage for our bikes as they’re currently on bike stands in our living space. I would like to hide them.
