Suspect held over firearm street drama

A MAN has been arrested after a suspected gun was pointed towards a car on a residential street.

The drama unfolded at Beechgrove Avenue in the Aghagallon area of Lurgan, Co Armagh, on Tuesday.

A video circulated on Whatsapp shows what appears to be the incident.

In it, a man strides down the street with the suspected firearm in his right hand, pointing it at a silver car that looks like a police vehicle.

The car reverses away with the man following while still pointing with the gun in his hand.

The man then throws his hands up in the air before being hauled to the ground by uniformed police officers.

Police said they “arrested a 52-year-old man on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear”.
