ISIS Beatles ‘involved in abuse’ of US aid worker

Pair lied about ‘scared’ Kayla

TWO of the British ISIS terrorists dubbed the Beatles admit they did help to detain dead American Kayla Mueller.

Two years ago Alexanda Kotey, 36, and El Shafee Elsheikh, 32, had denied meeting the aid worker, claiming: “We didn’t meet any foreign non-muslims.”

But the captured pair, being held by the US military in Iraq, have now confessed that they were involved in detaining Kayla, 26, who was tortured and sexually abused before her death in 2015.

In new interviews, they admitted beating captives and playing a role in facilitating communication with their families to extract ransoms.

Kotey said: “She was in a room by herself no one would go in.”

Elsheikh said: “I took an email from her,” meaning an email address that could be used for a ransom.

He added: “She was in a large room, it was dark and she was alone, and… she was very scared.”

In one email reviewed by NBC News, ISIS demanded that her family pay £4.5million and threatened to send a “picture of Kayla’s dead body”.

Families of US hostages murdered by ISIS are now urging the Trump administration to try the two men in a civilian court.

Kayla’s mother, Marsha

Mueller, said: “They did so much horror to so many people. They need to be brought here. They need to be prosecuted... I need information about Kayla.”

In March, the High Court ruled the Government must withhold key evidence from the US for their trial because the Trump administration has not provided assurances that the men will not be executed.

US and British authorities say the ISIS “Beatles” were responsible for 27 killings.

Their leader Mohammed Emwazi was killed in 2015.
