- VALUE SCOPE STEVE JONES with his best bets at Ascot

HOLY smoke, there’s a bet to have us in Clover in Ascot’s Millennium Millionaire Handicap.

Newmarket trainer Tom Clover (right) has been banging in the winners this season and his HOLY

KINGDOM (3.00) looks to have a great chance of keeping the streak going.

This improving stayer kicked off the campaign with an easy Newmarket win over 1m4f. The step up to 1m6f helped when he rightly got the race in the stewards’ room after he was touched off by Volcanic Sky — a fivelength winner on his next start — back at Newmarket.

The soft ground was clearly to blame for a below-par effort last month and he looks sure to be suited by the step up to two miles for the first time.

There should be a nice pace for Holy Kingdom to aim at so have 2pts to win at 13-2. WILL TO WIN (1.50) has yet to win on turf but I reckon he will put that right in Ascot’s 1.50. He has won four times on the all-weather and horses that like the sand often do well at this course.

His second behind Theotherside at Newmarket two weeks ago means he has to turn the tables with Richard Hannon’s hope, but there are reasons to think he will.

He took a bump at the start that buzzed him up a bit and then he had to wait for a clear passage while Theotherside was getting first run. A 7lb pull at the weights doesn’t do any harm, either.have

2pts each-way at 8-1.

On a low-key afternoon, the Group 3 Sweet Solera gives the juvenile fillies the chance to take centre stage at Newmarket.

Fly Miss Helen was mighty impressive on her first visit to a racecourse but 13 debut winners have lined up for this race in the last eight years and all have been beaten. Four of those were favourite so

I’m keen to take her on.

DANILOVA (3.20) made a nice debut when runner-up at the July Meeting and she confirmed that promise when winning over today’s course and distance last week. Have 1pt to win at 9-2.
