Morelos is available to Gerrard

ALFREDO MORELOS will be back and available for selection for Rangers’ trip to Hamilton – as he waits for Lille to make a move.

The Ligue 1 club were waiting to see the fall-out from the weekend and also to finalise their own £27million sale of defender Gabriel Magalhaes to Arsenal.

Morelos controversially missed the weekend win over Kilmarnock.

Sources close to the Colombian had said he wasn’t mentally in the right place to play, while Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admitted he didn’t pick him because he hadn’t seen enough in training.

Morelos has now been told by the club and those close to him that he must keep his head down and work hard until a deal is eventually agreed with Lille or another club.

The 24-year-old must now wait to see if he has done enough to get back into Gerrard’s squad for the weekend trip to Hamilton.

Morelos has made it clear he wants to make the move to France and has already agreed terms with the Ligue 1 club.

Lille, however, have so far been unable to thrash out a fee with Rangers.

They had cooled their interest after they bought Jonathan David from Gent for around £27m earlier this month.

Lille, however, kept the Rangers star on their radar but needed to sell before they could buy.

They are prepared to use some of the money from Magalhaes’ exit to finance a deal for Morelos but aren’t prepared to go much further than the £17m mark which includes add-ons, that was previously rejected by the Ibrox side.

West Brom are also keen and Rangers have had approaches from Qatari club Al Duhail but Morelos and his agent made it clear that’s not an option.
