Harry: I love U.s.butiwant to get Archie playing rugby
PRINCE Harry says his new life in the US is “fantastic” – except for a lack of rugby balls to teach his son Archie how to play.
The Duke of Sussex also revealed plans to visit Britain, saying he “would have been back already” if Covid restrictions were not in place.
Harry, 35, made his comments on a video call with players, coaches and volunteers from the Rugby Football League, which he is patron of.
When asked if he is enjoying life in the US, he said: “Oh, easy question. I am loving it – it’s fantastic.”
Harry added he hopes to return home for the Rugby League World Cup, which is due to take place in England in October and November of 2021.
He said: “We’ve got a whole Rugby League World Cup coming next year, so I definitely plan on coming back.
“I’d have been back already had it not been for Covid.” Harry, speaking from his £10million home in Santa Barbara, California, said he plans to teach 15-monthold Archie rugby in the garden.
But the duke joked it is “impossible” to get hold of rugby balls in the US. He added: “I need to get him playing rugby league. I am unbelievably fortunate to have outdoor space and see my son outside as I know so many people haven’t had that chance in the last five months. “Our little man is our number one priority. Our work is our second… to make the world a better place.” During the video call to mark the RFL’S 125th anniversary, Harry said: “So many people [say] Covid doesn’t discriminate between classes and it’s like, ‘no’… I know a lot of people who are stuck in high-rise flats and can’t even see a bit of grass.
“You may have a garden… you may be feeling ‘wow, this is really hard’, but take that moment and go ‘wow, if it’s hard for me, how must it be for other people?’.”
