FORMER Doctor Who star Christopher Eccleston is starring in a play for the Covid-era with Ulster soap star Kerri Quinn.

Soda Bread Theatre Company’s production of The Post Corona Theatre Menu takes place in a Belfast home, where scenes will be performed in separate rooms as the audience moves between them.

Different sets of characters will act in every space, giving viewers an insight into their lives and relationships.

The cast also includes Andrew Simpson, Antoinette Morelli, Gerard Mccabe, Siobhan Kelly, Marty Maguire, Jo Donnelly and Terence Keeley.

Eccleston said: “I’m honoured and proud to be part of Soda Bread Theatre and Owen Mccafferty’s upcoming Post Corona Theatre Menu event.

“Like everybody in every industry, I’m desperate to get back to work and make a difference. To be doing it in my beautiful beloved Belfast makes it very special for me personally.”

The play will be hosted in cast member Antoinette Morelli’s home.

Each course of the “menu” was written by hugely successful Belfast playwright Owen Mccafferty, whose first screenplay Ordinary Love starred Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville.

Producer Gerard Mccabe said: “We are very keen to showcase live theatre in a way that will be safe for the audience, and the actors and give a live experience for the audience. Numbers will be restricted to coronavirus legislation and contact tracing and temperature checks will be carried out.

“The cast and myself are all very much looking forward to performing live again, which will be a unique experience.”

Tickets are limited and cost £15 plus booking fee and can be purchased through Sodabread Facebook/eventbrite. They will go on sale in October.
