Watchdog Ofcom received a shocking 2,966 complaints about Diversity’s Britain’s Got Talent Black Lives Matter performance.

That is nearly four times the 800 it received after the Pussycat Dolls’ super-raunchy pre-watershed performance on last year’s The X Factor, and 60 times more than when BGT judge Amanda Holden accidentally said the F-word when scared by a ghost act.

Diversity’s Ashley Banjo, who previously thanked haters for highlighting why racism was still an issue, has now revealed he and others are being sent a horrific new Instagram meme.

before focusing on the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement - with Ashley recreating the May killing of George Floyd, 46.

Diversity’s hard-hitting routine depicted the following global outcry with dancers as protesters and riot police and ended with all the members taking the knee. It received a standing ovation from the judges and was highly praised by thousands of fans, some who said they were “moved to tears”. But many of those who complained insisted the Saturday night pre-watershed show was no place for political statements.

A BGT spokesperson said: “Diversity’s performance offered their take on the extraordinar y events of 2020 opening up important topics of conversation. The show was compiled for a family audience”
