TOO SLACK AT BACK FOR MAC

Celtic 3 Livingston 2

CALLUM MCGREGOR insists Celtic have to tighten up.

The Parkhead ace and his team-mates had to battle to the end against Livingston before securing their 3-2 win. Neil Lennon’s men were comfortable going into the final half hour on Saturday with a two-goal lead having fought back from the loss of Jason Holt’s penalty.

But Julien Serrano’s wonder strike made for a nervy finale for the champions.

Mcgregor told Celtic TV: “The last 15 minutes when they got the goal to bring them back into it at 3-2, we probably made it more difficult than it should have been.

“At the start of the second half, we looked good and comfortable. We get the third one and you maybe fancy us to see it out 3-1 or 4-1 but that’s something we have to really work on in terms of conceding goals.

“We’re conceding too many as a team. Shots from the edge of the box. It’s not really us, we need to work on that.”

Mcgregor’s equaliser in the game was his 50th goal for the club before Ryan Christie and Albian Ajeti netted.

He added: “The boys reacted really well to the penalty. I took a touch and hit it and sometimes they take a little nick when they go in, which is fine.

“Ryan’s playing with confidence, that’s him got a few goals and assists and we need to keep him fit and firing.

“Albian has shown since he’s come in he’s a brilliant finisher. He lifted it onto the top corner and I’m delighted for him. He’s showing he’s a real marksman.”
