Jeff in awe of Gleeson portrayal
HOLLYWOOD star Jeff Daniels revealed Brendan Gleeson nailed his portrayal of Donald Trump on the first take.
The duo are set to face off in the series The Comey Rule, the story of former FBI director James Comey and the US President.
Looking back at their i ntense shoot, Daniels said his co-star was a pleasure to work with.
He added: “I first met him two months in.
“By then, I had two months of Jim Comey under my belt and now we get to see Donald Trump.
“The first scene we did was the loyalty dinner.
“And Brendan was ready on take one. This isn’t Alec Baldwin doing a SNL sketch.
“This is the beating heart, if such a thing exists, inside Trump – the darkness, what he’s thinking.
“And when you’re three feet away from Brendan Gleeson and he’s looking at you and asking you for your loyalty, you know exactly what he means.
“It’s always a pleasure to be around actors who are without b*****t.”

Written and directed by Billy Ray, it was originally scheduled for release after November’s presidential poll. P ro ducers
pushed hard to get it on air before the vital vote and it will be screened from Sunday in the US.
Daniels said he feels the weight and the significance of the story they are telling.
He told RTE Guide: “Not everything you do as an actor matters or counts or can have an effect on the audience in a way that might change them.
“This had all of that. It was relevant, not only then, but today and it’s not often that you get to tell a story that we are still living.”
Also starring in the show is Holly
Hunter as acting Attorney General Sally Yates, Michael Kelly as FBI Deputy Director Andrew Mccabe and Scoot Mcnairy as Deputy Attorney General Ron Rosenstein.
The Comey Rule will air on Sky Atlantic and Now TV next week.
