CHELSEA keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga will be dumped for new £22million signing Edouard Mendy.

That is the view of former Blues defender Frank Leboeuf, who believes Kepa’s confidence is shot to pieces and he must be taken out of the firing line.

Chelsea are bringing in Rennes nes keeper Mendy, and Willy y Caballero i s set to pl ay against Barnsl ey i n t h e Carabao Cup tomorrow night, t, which means Kepa is out in the cold after another howler against Liverpool on Sunday (top).

France World Cup winner Leboeuf (above) told ESPN: “He cannot play, his head is on another planet. He doesn’t feel football, he doesn’t even live football, he’s just wondering if he’s still a goalkeeper.

“He shouldn’t play, he should see a shrink. It’s maybe the first mistake from Frank Lampard to keep putting Kepa i n goal. Th e guy has lost his confidence completely.

“It reminds me of

Fernando Torres. But, w h e n y o u’re a striker, you miss a chance, and t they give h him ano other g game.

“But, with a keeper, you make a mistake and you concede a goal.

“Compared to Kepa, Mendy is much better than that and has had a very good season at Rennes.

For that money, Me n dy is a very good keeper – he’s mu ch t a l l e r, very agile and better than Ke p a a t the moment.”

But despite the arrival of Mendy (above), midfielder Mason Mount insists the team must rally round £73m Spain keeper Kepa and help him rebuild his confidence after mistakes in the first two games of the season. Mount said: “Kepa knows where he needs to improve, but we are all behind him. We all ma k e mi s t a k e s , I ma k e mistakes, I give the ball away. “But we all support him and it doesn’t matter because we need to look towards the next game now.”
