Bu But if the Scot still needs any to tonic to shake off the virus, this s should do the trick.

The Hammers were superb as they ended Leicester City’s 100 per cent record, which in included a stunning 5-2 vic victory over Manchester City. It denied the Foxes a fourth successive win at the start of the season for the first time in their history. And they were not just beaten, they were out-thought and outclassed. Michail Antonio up front ran the hosts ragged with his pace and strength as he opened the scoring early on.

Pablo Fornals added a delightful second before the break after another good ball from Aaron Cresswell.

Declan Rice also hit the bar before Jarrod Bowen ran clear to seal the win late on with a further clinical finish.

It was in stark contrast to the hosts who didn’t have a single shot on target.

But West Ham’s well-drilled defence and solid shape were crucial, with Rice (left) excelling back in his favoured midfield role.

When the third goal went in, coaches Alan Irvine and Kevin Nolan embraced on the sidelines.

And according to Irvine, Moyes (inset, top) will have been equally jubilant in his front room

Moyes kept ept touch by telephone with another er of his backroom team at the he ground, Stuart Pearce (inset, et, below).

Irvine, who guided the team to a 4-0 win over Wolves the previous weekend, sai d: “Dav vid i d i s abs o lut ely thrilled. We e will be training on Tuesday ay and he is hoping to come in then, all being ing well.”

Ham’s first away win this term, erm, only their eir second in n the Premier League in 2020, and was thoroughly deserved.

The visitors took the lead with their first effort on target when Antonio cleverly found space at the back post to head in Cresswell’s deep cross in the 14th minute. It was the striker’s ninth goal in 1 0 P re mi e r L e a g u e g a m e s stretching back to last term. He also became the first West Ham striker since Mike Small to score in five consecutive away games in the top-flight since 1991. The visitors remained the best team as they started to impose themselves. They The doubled their lead in the 34th 3 minute as Cresswel l got anoth er assist.

Kasper Schmeichel for his first of the season. Leicester were poor and didn’t move the ball quickly enough with top-scorer Jamie Vardy isolated up front on his own.

The Foxes showed more urgency in the second half but the visitors still looked the more dangerous on the break. Impressive debutant V l a d i mi r C o u f a l p i c ke d o u t Antonio to head at Schmeichel.

Antonio also got away down the right in the 58th minute and found Fornals but the Spanish midfielder’s shot was blocked by Jonny Evans for a corner. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers switched to a back four when Daniel Amartey went of f, with striker Kelechi Iheanacho playing off Vardy (left).

But the Hammers nearly made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute as Rice burst down the middle from inside his own half and crashed a left-foot effort against the woodwork. They did seal a deserved win with a late goal as Fornals picked out Bowen to run clear to score with a low leftfoot finish in the 83rd minute.

Harvey Barnes thought he had struck a brilliantly-worked goal but Vardy was judged offside by VAR when the pair swapped passes.
