BLUEBIRDS SO CHIRPY ABOUT HIT LOAN KIDS
LEE TOMLIN’S red card was the downside for Cardiff but the upside was the “superb performance” of two young newcomers.
In a backs-to-the-wall battle to save a point, Premier League loanees Jordi Osei-tutu and Sheyi Ojo shone as the 10-man Bluebirds held out.
Cardiff manager Neil Harris piled praise on Arsenal loan man Osei-tutu, who was 22 last Friday, and on 23-year-old Ojo, loaned out for the season by
Liverpool. Harris said: “It was their best performance for us. Jordi showed quality on the ball, and his defensive mind-set.
“Sheyi has unbelievable quality too. We have to fill him with confidence and then let him be himself. They are going to develop all the time with us.”
Tomlin’s dismissal
(above) – for his second yellow – came when he appeared to elbow Blackburn sub Sam Gallagher, although Harris criticised his first yellow, for a foul on Tyrhys Dolan.
Blackburn’s new keeper Thomas Kaminski also put in an eye-catching display and boss Tony Mowbray adding: “He’s a smashing lad and brings us his experience. He made good saves and his mentality and temperament is good.
“He brings a great deal to the team.
“We’ve shown we can score recently but we’re also a side with a good defensive record as well.”
