Chelsea double ensures semi-final spot for Killen Rangers

KILLEN Rangers Ladies have continued their Electric Ireland NIWFA Cup assault with a 3-1 win over Belfast Celtic Ladies.

A double from Chelsea Scott and another goal from Stacey Johnston saw Rangers progress to the semifinals of the competitio­n.

They will meet St James’ Swifts in the last-four after the West Belfast side eased past Camlough Rovers in their quarter-final tie.

Captain Siobhan Bell and Claire Shaw both scored hat-tricks while Molly White bagged a double with the other goals coming from Lauren Mulligan and Cora Burns,

Camlough’s consolatio­n came from Megan Mcclure as St James’ claimed an emphatic 9-1 victory.

Division 1A

Cup form aside, Killen Rangers kept up their impressive league season with a 3-1 win over Lurgan Town.

A brace from Scott and third goal from Wendy Forces earned Rangers their victory, which moves them into third place in Division 1A.

Elsewhere, St James’ Swifts came from two goals down to beat Mid Ulster Ladies 4-2 at the Mid-ulster Arena.

A double from the in-form Lucy Badger had Mid Ulster in front, but St James’ showed their fighting spirit with a rousing comeback.

Molly White scored twice with further goals from Carla Devine and Cathy Kelly helping the Belfast visitors secure the points.

Also in Division 1A, Comber Rec Ladies recorded a 3-0 win over Ballymena’s All Stars - Lucy Carville (2) and Amber Dempster were on target.

Meanwhile, top scorer Sara Stevenson fired home a hat-trick at trick for Lisburn Ladies in their eir 3-0 win over East Belfast Ladies. This result leaves es the Lisburn Ladies s five points clear the top of the table

Division 2A

Crewe United Ladies extracted revenge on Portadown Ladies for a defeat the week previous with a 6-2 win at Shamrock Park.

The girls from Crewe had found themselves 3-0 up after only 15 minutes thanks to goals from Sasha Birch, Aoife Connor and Ellen McClure but the Ports then came roaring back to pull it back to 3-2 at the br break thanks to goals f from Courtney Ada amson and Lauren H Hutchinson.

Crewe stretched c clear in the second ha half through two more goal goals from Mcclure who comple completed her hat-trick with Connor adding another. Meanwhile, an early missed penalty by Belfast Celtic Ladies proved costly as Foyle Belles won a feisty game in West Belfast on Thursday night.

THREE & EASY Comber celebrate their third goal the lead through Ellie Redden but Celtic drew level through a superb goal from Eadaoin Ni Chiarrain.

However, the Derry girls went home with the points thanks to a second Redden strike.

Division 2B

Lisburn Rangers flexed their title muscle in Division 2B with a comfortabl­e 9-0 win over St Oliver Plunkett Ladies.

Eve Reilly scored a hat-trick while Sophie O’rawe (2), Ella Haughey, Erin Mcgreevy, Ellie Tennyson and Paige Chapman were also on target.

Division 3A

In Division 3A Dromara Village picked up an important three points with a 3-2 win over the Belfast Ravens at Bells Bridge.

The Villagers led 1-0 at half time thanks to a Zoey Mcallister goal but the Ravens levelled through a Lisa Black penalty.

The hosts then regained the lead through Mcallister, but the Ravens showed their character with a second equaliser through Caiti Mccloskey.

Dromara forged ahead soon after with Mcallister completing her hattrick to complete the win.

Division 3B

There were goals galore at Allen Park as Rosario YC Ladies defeated Antrim Rovers 7-4 in Division 3B.

Rosario had led 3-2 at the break thanks to two goals from Natalia Orlowska and an og, while Rovers’ goals came from Amber Marsh and Lynsey Murray.

In the second half Rosario were well on top with Maeve Li Wen Quah scoring and Orlowska adding another three goals to seal the win.

Rovers’ consolatio­ns in the second half both came from Marsh who completed her hat-trick.
