Jane Weaver has Super 2020 Vision

Single from forthcoming album Flock is Revolutionary

-

The peerless Jane Weaver released her brand new single The Revolution Of Super Visions this week and as expected, it’s solid gold.

It’s the l ead track from her upcoming new album, Flock – the follow up to 2019’s acclaimed Loops In The Secret Society - and will be released i n March 2021.

“The re v olution accidentally happens because so many people visualise the same ideals and something super - natural occurs,” says Weaver. “Everyone is exhausted with social media, inequality and the toxic masculinity of world leaders contributing to a dying planet.”

Flock will be the 12th long player in Jane’s almost 20-year career and her fourth in five prolific years.

Cited as “pop music for post-newnormal times”, Flock has been created from elements that will never date. Delightfully, still prevalent are her trademark soaraway cosmic pop sounds.

Jane is a real mastercraftswoman of her trade, as innovative as she is unique.

She first popped up during Brit-pop with the band Kill Laura before exploring indie folk wares with Misty Dixon.

As a solo artist Jane traveled from folktronica sounds in the early 2000s to r i c h Br it i sh f o l k , then quirky and strange psych weirdness, pocket-punk, synthpop, acid folk, dark-ambient and even Hollywood soundtracks – arriving in 2020 at what we think described her output beautifully

– cosmotronica.

Her dreamlike and airy pop is clearly influenced by Italian synths and art rock from Germany and although most accessible, her recent work is also most definitely her finest, in our most humble of opinions.

Until 2017 she was a hip and fringe word-of-mouth talent for those i n the know – Modern Kosmology changed that, collecting a repertoire of accolades and an elusive, unheralded attention.

The ten-tracker remains a hypnotic dreampop masterpiece – The Architect, S low Motion and title track Modern Kosmology being particular standouts and gaining regular specialist radio play.

Mo d e r n K o s m o l o g y w a s followed in June 2019 by Loops in the Secret Society – a concept album that fused sounds from her two most recent albums in one expansive experiment; a collection of songs hot-housed into a new soundscape.

You can hear Revolution of Super Visions now, wherever you stream your music, and new LP Flock will be available on olivegreen vinyl with a deluxe ‘tip-on’ sleeve and poster (Rough Trade Exclusive), cream vinyl (Indie Store Exclusive) and standard light rose vinyl edition and CD.

Everyone is exhausted with social media, inequality and the toxic masculinity of world leaders contributing to a dying planet.
