SAHA BACKS THE DOMINATOR

- BY CHRIS MCKENNA

LOUIS SAHA believes Everton finally have a striker to score 20 goals a season in Dominic Calvert-lewin.

Not since Romelu Lukaku left the club in the summer of 2017 has a Toffees striker hit 20 goals in one campaign.

Lukaku reached that landmark in his three years at the club as a permanent player. Now Calvert-lewin has started this season with nine goals in six games for the Blues.

And former Everton striker Saha can see the powerful centre-forward delivering consistently.

He said: “He has all the quality to do that and I think there is a great future for him. It is all about consistency, there are different games, there are different scenarios if you are up against a back four or a back five.

“There are situations when you go a few games without a goal, you have to be strong in these situations and arrogant enough to always believe.”

Saha, who spent four years at

Goodison between 2008 and 2012, has been impressed by the youngster’s progress. He added: “He knows where to go, he is a very intuitive player. He has taken the role really well. He has been very precise in his finishing.

“He does seem to be more calm, more prepared to do the actual runs that will benefit his style.

“Some players look at social media and other players and try to copy them and do something they are not good at.

“What is important is to do what you are good at. He does what he is best at.”
