ROBERTS BACK AT BORO TO BE BRITT SPECIAL

- BY SIMON BIRD

PATRICK ROBERTS is set for his second coming at Middlesbrough – on a mission to get Neil Warnock’s strikers scoring.

The Manchester City ity playmaker (above) rejoined Boro on loan last week and Warnock (right) wants him to bring the best out of Britt Assombalonga.

Warnock said: “Patrick seems to have matured.

“That might be because of the way we’re playing and the fact he knows the lads. He can come straight in and be himself.

“He gives me an opportunity to play different ways, different styles, different systems. Patrick can fit in here, there and everywhere.

“We’ve tried different people in i different areas bu but we haven’t really g got someone who c can go past a player a and thread a ball. I f feel sorry at times for Britt. He’s worked tirelessly. I just feel Patrick will give us another option.”

Reading boss Veljko Paunovic says the pressure is still off despite their stunning start.

The Royals have won four out of four even though expectations were low at the Madejski in the summer.

But even though there may now be thoughts of a promotion push, Paunovic said: “We are the same Reading as we were before and we will do the same things.

“We don’t put any more or less pressure than before, it’s the same.

“There are some non-negotiables and that’s what makes us Reading and a united team which plays to the end.

“On top of this, and talent and preparation, this has brought us to be very happy with this situation.”
