NO POINTS NO PANIC FOR DYCHE

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

SEAN DYCHE is not worrying about Burnley’s poor start to the season.

The Clarets face West Brom tonight at the bottom of the table, having lost their first three Premier League games.

But Burnley boss Dyche (above) said: “As a realist, there’s always a concern at every moment, but I don’t really worry.

“I plan, we plan, we think, we add the detail, we look at ourselves. I look at myself first, the staff as well, then we look at what we’re doing.

“Then, we add in the reality of the challenge and it is the Premier League, which is a very, very tough league.

“We process all that and look to move forward. We work with the players on a continuous basis to get the best out of them. If you can do that as a collective, then you get results.”

Burnley have come through sticky spells before, recovering to finish 10th last term after losing eight out of 12 league games at the end of 2019.

“I’d like to think we have a group that’s coming back together,” he said.

“The mentality is definitely there. They know the challenge. We have a group who have become more experienced because of the years they have been in the Premier League.

“We’ve had tough starts before and come through.”

Dyche is also unconcerned by Burnley’s dismal record against West Brom – they have won just one of their last six top-flight meetings.

“We have dispelled so many myths. When I got here, it was like everyone we played was someone we seemed to have a bad record against,” he added.

“It was incredible – Ipswich, Bolton, Wigan and Blackburn, of course!

“We dispelled those myths many times, so I’m not going to worry about the past, I’m more worried about the future.”
