CALLUM WILSON says his instinctive relationship with Ryan Fraser will reap more goals for Newcastle.

The pair formed a prolific partnership at Bournemouth, which they rekindled on Tyneside after both made the move north.

Fraser’s cross set up Wilson (above) for his sixth goal in seven Premier League games this term to beat Everton 2-1 on Sunday.

And Wilson is now desperate for his pal Fraser (below) to be a regular in Steve Bruce’s attacking line-up, so the goals continue to flow.

The duo’s most successful season together was in 2018-19 when they collectively scored 21 goals and had 23 assists, 12 of which were to each other.

And Wilson said of Scotland star Fraser: “It’s been a relationship that’s been going on for a number of years.

“As soon as he was into that position against Everton, I knew where the ball was going to end up. I just make sure I am waiting there for when it does come. It was on the goalline, but I’ll take that all day.

“I am delighted for him. He has joined Newcastle and is still getting himself up to speed. It will do him the world of good, he will take confidence from that assist.”

Fraser has two assists now and one goal himself in the League Cup after training most of the summer on his own, having refused to play for the Cherries before the restart because his contract was ending.

Wilson added: “He has had to adapt here playing in numerous positions, which is sometimes difficult.

“But he is good on his left foot, gets the ball into the right area and as a striker you make sure you are in the right area.”
