Joe Pasquale (1st, Series 4)

- Shaun Ryder (2nd, Series 10)

With so many celebrities in a confined space, personality clashes are inevitable.

Joe advises: “There are quite a lot of egos... rein in your own and don’t get caught up in it.

“On the outside watching, you can think ‘what a d**khead, why is he getting so wound up?’ But think of it like an extreme lockdown, where the smallest thing can really start to irritate.”

Joe, 59, also has advice on the luxury item: “You don’t need a pillowcase with your kids’ faces on, an exercise ball, a hairbrush... within hours of sitting on a log your back is killing [you] so think comfort, and bring a seat.”

Joe adds the show could be a great way to help contestants face and conquer their fears.

Having been terrified of flying before his jungle stint, he was forced to jump out of a plane and hang out of a helicopter on the show. Joe adds: “Within six months of getting home, I had got my pilot’s licence!”

Shaun’s first bit of advice for the new campmates is to shout: “I’m a celeb, get me out of here!” as soon as possible.

He says: “They’re going to get rained and snowed on, are they mad? It’ll be f***ing freezing. Then again I know there are no dangerous animals wandering around there, only dangerous Welshmen, and maybe vampire sheep and badgers.”

Shaun, 58, cautions of public voting: “If people don’t get challenges, they think voters don’t care about them, but if they do get the challenges, they think people hate their guts.”

The Happy Mondays frontman, who later formed Black Grape, had left two children under two at home with wife Joanne.

He says: “I really enjoyed it – it was easier than being in the real world.”

Black Grape go on tour in September 2021. Tickets: blackgrapemusic.com/tour.
