IT appears Ranvir Singh gets no rest from her Strictly training, even after she goes to bed…
The GMB star has told how she works so hard with professional partner Giovanni Pernice she even dances while asleep.
Ranvir and the Italian got the high est sc ore, a 27, at th e weekend with an dazzling foxtrot.
And she told how hard graft is behind the success.
The 43-year-old revealed the long hours and gruelling practice she and Giovanni are putting in is tough, but is reaping rewards. She said: “Your whole body feels it and you wake up with throbbing feet in the night and then you know you’ve really worked hard. As Giovanni keeps saying, ‘If it’s not uncomfortable, it’s not right.’
“I ’m literally moving in my sleep. My legs are moving in my sleep, re-enacting the whole thing over and over again.
“It’s muscle memory and it’s repetition. You have to keep repeating it. Then, as Gio says to me, your body remembers what to do and on the night, you can enjoy it and
you can perform. If you’re worried about your steps, you can’t perform.”
Ranvir also told how she balances her early-morning GMB role with Strictly training.
She said: “Every minute counts, so there’s no spare, there’s no slack in the system.
“There’s no minute spared but I’m built for grafting. My whole career is based on me constantly, from the beginning, putting my hand up in the office and going, ‘ Yeah, I’ll do that.’
“You’re in Strictly, for God’s sake. All of my friends, everybody I’ve known, this is the one thing they would all love to do, and I’m the one doing it. It’s a challenge, but people have got far greater challenges than being a bit tired and dancing on telly.”
Ranvir is single after splitting from husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal. The couple have a son, Tu s h a a n , e i g h t . Giovanni, 30, is also single and not surprisingly, their chemistry on Strictly and social media chat has led to suggestions they are flirting.
Ranvir has told how the show is reigniting pride in her body. She l ost half a stone during preparations. She added: “You’re using your body at quite a rate that I’ve never used it before.
“You then realise your body is capable of a lot more.”
