TRUMP ADMITS: YES I LOST, ER, NO I DIDN’T
Whingeing leader’s confused posts
DONALD Trump appeared to admit he lost the US election for the first time when he said Presidentelect Joe Biden “won”.
However, he soon backtracked by insisting: “I concede nothing.”
The US leader’s initial apparent concession came just hours aft er violence erupted between his supporters and counterprotesters in Washington DC close to the White House.
Trump tweeted Biden had won as he once again fuelled tensions in America that the November 3 election was “stolen” from him. He moaned: “He won because the election was rigged. No vote watchers or observers allowed, vote tabulated by a radical left privately-owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation and bum equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas [which I won by a lot!], the Fake & Silent Media and more.”
White House sources have told the Mirror in recent days they y have seen the President’s mood turn from anger to one of resignation back to anger as his legal challenges to the election result began to collapse.
But an hour after saying Biden “won”, Trump backtracked on his comments as thousands of people took to social media to say he had conceded the race.
He posted: “Rigged election. We will win. He [Biden] only won in the eyes of the fake news media. I concede nothing.
“We have a long way to go. This was a rigged election!”
Trump’s tweet yesterday was the first acknowledgement he may accept the result having lost both the Electoral College and popular vote.
He has become the first president since 1992 to fail to get re-elected and one of only five in history.
