THEN Good lord, Dawn is back in Dibley

-

HALLOWED be thy Zoom! Dawn French is back as the Vicar of Dibley delivering virtual sermons to her parishioners in lockdown.

Her character Geraldine Granger is joined on her comfy sofa by hapless Hugo Horton, played by James Fleet, whose late wife Alice was Geraldine’s best pal.

Dawn, who was in her 30s when the hit sitcom started, looks delighted to be back offering her musings on life, faith and chocolate at the age of 63.

Vicar Geraldine’s online monthly sermons will be seen in a trio of 10-minute films as a Christmas treat for fans of the BBC show.

The Vicar of Dibley originally aired from 1994 to 1998 but returned for regular specials, the last of which was screened in 2007.
