‘Hair today, gone tomorrow if We don’t get support soon’
A HAIR salon owner fears his business will have trouble surviving as he slammed the Executive for “destroying the very fabric of our society”.
Paul Stafford, who owns Stafford Hair on Belfast’s Lisburn Road with his wife Leisa, had staff in for days rescheduling appointments ahead of reopening yesterday. Now he faces another two-week closure from November 27 and said it is making business “absolutely impossible”.
Mr Stafford added: “I think this shows the complete lack of leadership we have running the country in Northern Ireland, the fact, they couldn’t agree on some very basic things – not just in terms of
the pandemic but what would make better sense in terms of giving business a chance to survive.
“The impact this is going to have on business is detrimental. I had three people in the salon from Tuesday to reschedule all of the appointments. I have to pay these people.
“They were rescheduling all of the appointments that were missed for the last month, now we have to do it again.
“We are not making any money here. This is a time-wasting exercise, it is destroying morale.
“We have had no financial help yet. There has been nothing. How do we pay our bills, our rent, our tax? Where do they expect us to get this revenue from?”
