Man attacked with iron bars

A MAN was taken to hospital after a group of masked men armed with iron bars and hammers burst into a house and assaulted him.

The incident, which occurred in the Carlisle Road area of North Belfast, was reported to police at 9.15pm on Thursday.

The man in his 20s was struck around the head, arms and legs and was taken to hospital where he received treatment for a suspected broken arm, cuts and severe bruising.
