It’s the mane event Swann call over Muckamore probe

-

PATIENTS and families are being asked to help shape the public inquiry into abuse at Muckamore Abbey Hospital.

Police are investigating claims of illtreatment at the Co Antrim facility which caters for adults with severe learning disabilities and mental health needs.

In September, Health Minister Robin Swann made a commitment to patients and their families that they would be given the chance to influence the remit and scope of the probe.

Now he is inviting them to participate in a series of engagement meetings facilitated by the Patient Client Council.

Mr Swann said: “While the public inquiry will not be able to undo the shocking events of the past, I hope it will help provide patients and families with the answers they need and deserve.”
