BLAND ON THE RUN

RICHARD BLAND carded a second successive 67 in the Joburg Open – but still los lost ground.

The 47-year-old Engishman, now on eight under par, is five shots behind leader Jacques Blaauw, who shot a 63 at storm-affected Randpark Golf Club.

South African Blaauw’s eyecatching display included seven birdies and an eagle as he added to his first-round 66.

Blaauw, ranked 476th in the world rankings, is one shot clear of first-round leader Wilco Nienaber in the European Tour event.

Welshman Rhys Enoch, whos finished the first round on six under, shares sixth place with Bland (above) on eight under at the halfway stage after a second-round 69.
