ALL-IRELAND SHC QUARTER-FINALS
Today, Pairc Ui Chaoimh, 3.45pm
A SIMILAR dynamic to the second quarter-final, though Clare may feel the strain as they play on a third successive Saturday.
Both of these teams have Limerick in common in this Championship and Waterford posed a greater threat to John Kiely’s side last Sunday than Clare managed last month.
They have found a bit of form against more forgiving opposition with Tony Kelly (right) in the form of his life but he’ll need back-up if Clare are to go much deeper.
If Waterford aren’t too crestfallen by last Sunday, they’ survive this.
OUR VERDICT: Waterford
TIPPERARY enjoy an advantage having successfully remounted the horse against Cork last Saturday, just before Galway largely dominated the Leinster final only to be overtaken by a late Kilkenny surge.
Up to that three-quarter mark, the case for Galway being Limerick’s strongest challengers was compelling.
Now they’re battling just to stay in the competition. Tipperary should be in a better headspace, enough to give them an edge with little to choose between them.
OUR VERDICT: Tipperary
