JAMIE Dornan has revealed he received a fan letter which accused him of having a secret love child with his Fifty Shades Of Grey co-star Dakota Johnson.

In an interview with Variety about new movie Wild Mountain Thyme, set in the west of Ireland, the Holywood, Co Down, actor shared the story.

He told the magazine he was sent “a collage of photographs of a kid”, with a note about his most famous role.

He then said: “Someone saying that it was my kid and my wife should know that I have this kid who’s 7 years old.

“I think they were trying to say that the kid was mine and Dakota Johnson’s and we’d had this baby while we made the first Fifty Shades movie.”

Despite the creepiness of the letter,

Jamie seemed unfazed, adding: “It piqued our interest, let’s say. It was a bit freaky.”

The actor was cast in the role of Christian Grey in October 2013, with the first Fifty Shades Of Grey film being released in 2015.

The erotic-romantic movies, based on the books by EL James, were a box office success and propelled him to international fame.

Since finishing the trilogy, Jamie has starred in small, independent films.

He told Variety: “I love the energy of independent film.

“I love that sort of kick, f r o l i c , s c ra mbl e - t o - t h e - finish-line every day and you can take liberties and everyone’s in it together.

“No one’s getting paid what they have been paid and we have to make this work. It brings out the best in people.”

Jamie’s latest role is as Irish farmer Anthony Reilly i n Wild Mountain Thyme.

On filming in the Co Mayo town of Ballina, he said it was like going back to a different era.

He added: “What’s interesting about shooting in rural Ireland where we were, it is like another time.

“It’s about the simple things and living off this farm, and that being the main focus of your day.”

Jamie also spoke about wrapping up work on Kenneth Branagh’s autobiographical 1960s movie Belfast, which was shot both in the North and in England.

And he revealed it was strange working while Covid guidelines were in place.

He said: “The first couple of days I was like, ‘This is crazy. I haven’t seen Kenneth Branagh’s face yet’.

“It’s masks and it’s strange but then it’s amazing how quickly you adapt.”
