STOKE HOLDS NO FEAR FOR 5-STAR FOXES

- BY DAVE ARMITAGE

LEICESTER boss Brendan Rodgers says his five-star players aren’t precious about anything Stoke might throw at them.

Cold, wet evenings in the Potteries are etched in soccer folklore as the benchmark of whether teams have a soft underbelly.

And bitter complaints from Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock about changing in a “pigsty” put Jose Mourinho on red alert when he took his Tottenham side to the bet365 in the Carabao Cup last month.

But Mourinho ended up walking away impressed with the upgraded set-up, and Rodgers doesn’t envisage any problems.

Rodgers (above) said: “It’s great to have amazing facilities, but our boys are not precious.

“We’ve all had to make do at times.

“We will change in whatever we have to change in and adapt accordingly.”

The Foxes have not lost a game since moving into their stunning Seagrave training complex, which includes accommodation, a restaurant, a pool, gym, rehabilitation units and a nine-hole golf course.

Jonny Evans admitted: “It’s really impressive.

You feel like you’re in a five-star hotel at times.”

Rodgers will rest some of his star players, including Jamie Vardy and James Maddison.

And Stoke boss Michael O’neill said: “I’d prefer them to be rested to be perfectly honest.

“It’s a bonus for us, but I’m well aware that whoever Leicester play they will have quality all over the pitch.

“It doesn’t matter who they bring in, so we’ve not been dwelling too much on what they may or may not do.

“It’s always good to try and take the scalp of a Premier League team and that’s what we will be aiming to do.

“We want to try and give a really good account of ourselves.”

O’neill is without striker Steven Fletcher, who has a groin injury, while midfielder Nick Powell is a doubt.
