THEIR WORD JUST ISN’T THEIR BOND

-

A website that I warned about last month has finally been added to the consumer alert list published by the Financial Conduct Authority.

It warns that bondcomparethe marketuk.com “is not authorised by us and is targeting people in the UK”.

This lot tries to snare victims with Google Ads that target people searching online for savings products, offering bonds that don’t exist by claiming to pay returns that are 10 times the amounts given by genuine providers.

I filled in its online enquiry form and was called back by someone claiming to work for Brode Capital Partners.

“Everything we deal with is approved by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme,” he lied.

Its website brodecp.com claims to have a chairman called James Brode but the picture has been lifted from the website of the Banque de Luxembourg and shows one of its investment fund managers,

Ivan Bouillot.

In fact, all the supposed staff on the website of Brode Capital Partners have been lifted from Banque de Luxembourg and the names changed. I put this to the sales rep when he called me a second time.

“I’m just a marketing agent,” he spluttered and that was the last I heard from him.

A spokesman for Banque de Luxembourg said: “We confirm that the website of the company called Brode Capital Partners appears to be a scam and that the pictures have been taken from our website and are being used without our authorisation.

“The photographs depict four of our fund managers who are in no way associated with Brode

Capital Partners.”
