ELTON John fans are expected to pay up to £40,000 for his former sports car.

The singer ordered the Maserati in 2005 and it still has his name in the log.

The V8 Quattroporte, which will gobble up any road, yellow brick or not, was resold in 2016 and has 30,000 miles on the clock.

It goes on sale with The Market on February 18.

Director Tristan Judge said it “has evidentially been treated like a celebrity itself over the years”.

THE stars and creators of Line Of Duty have been sharing some interesting behind-the-scenes facts about the show, as audiences get set for the sixth season to air.

Creator Jed Mercurio posted a running commentary on the show’s second series – the first to be filmed in Belfast in 2014 – on Twitter.

It comes ahead of the longawaited sixth season.

In a tweet shared on Sunday night, Mercurio showed pictures from the interior of the Invest NI

building on Bedford Street, writing: “Series 2 was the first we filmed in Belfast. Invest NI, Bedford St, became the offices of AC-12.

“There we found the little glass interview room we’ve used ever since, albeit in a different location for each season. Only the lobby has appeared in later seasons.” Actor Martin Compston, who plays Steve Arnott on the show, responded the Invest NI building “became an essential location in Belfast. Nearly as important as The Spaniard, Liquor and The Merchant when we were feeling fancy”.

Mercurio also shared how actor Mark Bonnar, who played DCC Bryden, had his first role in front of the whole cast in St Anne’s Cathedral.

He said: “No pressure! Mark did a brilliant job.”

ED Sheeran has donated a picture he painted to be raffled for a cancer charity.

The 29-year-old pop star hopes his colourful abstract Splash Planet, will help the Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, where he lives.

Ed says in a video: “The painting is... one of the big splashy ones that you saw in the Afterglow cover.

“I hope you enter, it goes to a really fantastic cause and it’s going to help a lot of people, so thank you very much and lots of love.”

Another Ed painting sold at auction for £40,000.

He said of the process of creating paintings: “Creativity is an amazing thing to make people happy... you just do it and it’s fun.”

Tickets for the raffle are £20, available at ccisuffolk. org from 10am today until 10am on February 12.

NEARLY half of self-employed workers are less likely to continue in their jobs due to the pandemic, a report reveals.

The Inquiry into the Future of Selfemployment, backed by the Federation of Small Businesses and trade unions Prospect and Community, found that of 2,200 self-employed workers, 46% said they were less likely to continue.

About two million could hunt ‘FORGOTTEN’ for jobs, according to the study. It found 88% said the level of pandemic aid for the self-employed was not a fair reflection of their tax contribution. Community’s Roy Rickhuss said: “The self-employed have often been the forgotten millions of the pandemic.” A Treasury spokesman said: “We’ve invested over £280billion through the pandemic to protect millions of jobs and businesses, and extended our self-employed and furlough schemes to April.”
