Fiona, how do you

carry on being chirpy through thick and thin? You’re a real tonic. I live on my own since my husband died and I look forward to your column every Saturday.

Mary, via email

FP: I’m so pleased to hear that you enjoy my column, Mary. And so kind of you to tell me so! Hope you have a lovely weekend… PS I’m not always chirpy, as my husband and sons will, I’m sure, testify to!

you after reading your memories of your parents and their sometimes public displays of the cruelty of Alzheimer’s.

I profusely apologised and explained that he had Alzheimer’s, but the damage was already done, I suspect!

Fiona, instead of us all

Ken, Brighton

FP: That is very true, Ken, and very comforting too.

Fiona, thank goodness

for football! It is the only ray of sunshine right now in this crazier-thanever world. I bet you’re loving your new manager, Mr Tuchel.

Barbara, via email

FP: Funnily enough, I am Barbara! The boy’s done good so far…
