Joss: Hiding Mask secret nearly led to a family rift

MASKED Singer winner Joss Stone says not revealing a Sausage about her game show disguise almost led to rows with her friends and family.
The 33-year-old soul singer admitted that keeping her participation a secret was“very hard”, explaining: “People around me were constantly trying to guess what
I was doing in these weeks.
“Some people even got mad because I wouldn’t tell them. It’s really been quite funny how crazy people get when you keep secrets from them. Madness!”
Joss also revealed why the panel failed to guess her identity: the clues were too obscure.
She said: “Some I didn’t even get because I don’t remember all the things I have done. The researcher was amazing, he reminded me of parts of my life
I had forgotten. The horse clue was the best because it’s true and also ridiculous.”
Sausage was said to have “owed her career to a horse” – a reference to her entering her first talent contest because she wanted the prize money to buy a pony. Saturday’s final on ITV became the most-watched show of the year so far, peaking with 10.6m viewers.
Other clues included a reference to Dover Sole – she was born in Dover and is a soul singer, theatre masks to hint at her acting, joss sticks burning and a reference to her being “young at heart” – one of her songs.
But Jonathan Ross, Davina Mccall, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora were convinced Sausage was either Sheridan Smith or Stacey Solomon.
Many viewers were surprised veggie Joss dressed as a piece of meat but she wanted the funniest costume. “It made me laugh every day. I wish I never took it off. My actual face and body are not half as entertaining.”
The series was recorded in September when Joss was five months pregnant. The star, who gave birth to daughter Violet last month, added: “Singing can be an emotional thing. Music is truly therapy for your soul.”
US singer Ne-yo came second as Badger with former JLS star Aston Merrygold third as Robin. TV bosses promise an even more “bonkers” series next year.

HIGH winds prevented a plane landing safely at Belfast City Airport yesterday.
The BA 1416 from London Heathrow approached the runway but the pilot headed towards Carryduff before circling over the Irish Sea.
Responding to adverse weather conditions, the crew sought permission to divert to
Belfast International at
Aldergrove Airport.
The 312-mile flight normally takes 56 minutes, however, the Valentine’s Day journey took two hours and 20 minutes. A spokeswoman for British Airways, said yesterday: “Our highly- skilled pilots took the decision to divert due to adverse weather.”
A spokesman for Belfast International Airport added: “A British Airways flight to Belfast City from London Heathrow was diverted to Belfast International due to weather conditions. The flight landed safely.”
