JAGUAR is to stop making petrol and diesel models over the next four years and will sell only electricpowered cars from 2025.

The target, unveiled by parent company Jaguar Land Rover yesterday, comes ahead of a Government ban on the sale of new diesel and petrol cars by 2030.

JLR vowed to keep all three UK plants open at Halewood in Liverpool and Solihull and Castle Bromwich in the West Midlands. But the changes will end car making at the Castle

Bromwich site, expected to become a “non-production facility” – leading to speculation it might be used for car battery making. Mike Hawes of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said: “That the UK’S largest automotive business has confirmed its long-term commitment to the UK is very welcome and is an injection of confidence into the sector.”

Des Quinn of Unite said: “Assurances of no plant closures and no compulsory job losses have been sought and given.”

The firm aims to invest £2.5billion a year, with plans to take the Jaguar brand more upmarket to compete with Aston Martin and Bentley.

Jaguar now makes just one battery powered car, the I-pace.

Land Rover is also set to go green, with six electric models launched within the next five years, the first of them in 2024.

Emily Atack sure knows how to treat a Lady.

The single Celeb Juice star recreated the famous spaghetti scene in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp with her Valentine’s date – Penny, her King Charles Cavalier.

And there were no petrol station flowers for Cardi B, whose rapper husband Offset filled her entire home with floral tributes, while Nicole Scherzinger was spoilt with this schmaltzy bundle by topless rugby beau Thom Evans.

Madonna celebrated with boyfriend Ahlamalik Williams

– though they clearly had a third wheeler photographing them.

And Jennifer Lopez’s fiance Alex Rodriguez gave her a huge rose orb, spelt out their initials in petals, then put some beside a big illuminated “I love you” sign. In case she still needed it spelt out.
