The boss of an investment firm featured in this column two weeks ago has been charged by City of London police with acting as a company director while disqualified.

Christian Beauchamp, 43, is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court, London, next month.

His company, Alpha Nova Capital

Limited, has been removed from the Financial Conduct Authority list of authorised firms.

A SHOP owner has banked a six-figure sum after selling a Banksy mural that appeared on his wall.

Workers turned up at 5am yesterday to remove “Hulahoop Girl”, and left after boarding up the gap in the wall of the AVI Hair & Beauty Salon.

The mural had appeared overnight in Rothesay Avenue,

Nottingham, in October and Banksy confirmed it was his.

The mural shows a young girl appearing to hula-hoop with a tyre taken from a bike.

Banksy left a Raleigh bicycle with a missing wheel locked to a pole beside the mural. The Raleigh Bicycle Company was founded in the 1880s in the city.

The artwork was later covered with plastic to protect it from vandalism and the bike was removed for safe-keeping.

The shop owner, who does not want to be named, sold Hula-hoop Girl to an Essexbased gallery and said the cash would be “donated privately”.

He previously claimed he had no plans to sell the mural, saying: “To me, money is not important. He did it for the people of Nottingham.” Another

Banksy, “Aachoo”, which shows a woman sneezing out her false teeth, has been boarded over.

It appeared on a house on Vale Street, Bristol, in December. A new family has moved in and locals branded them “mean spirited” for erecting scaffolding and boards to hide the mural from view.
