“My inspiration is to capture the essence of life as best I can,” says amateur artist Lynn Wells about her beautiful still life of a traditional cottage garden.

The fiftysomething, who lives in Wales, says: “I picked up a pencil to draw before I picked up a pen to write.

“And over the years I’ve sketched and painted all manner of subjects, from countryside landscapes to pets and animals.

“I hope to continue producing work for folk to enjoy.”

Simon’s been doing his best to keep Leanne on an even keel, but she’s still struggling. After finding and then dropping another one of the white feathers she’s convinced is a sign from Oliver, she ends up running down the street and almost gets knocked over, before later realising Simon has been planting them.

In a furious rage, she lashes out and slaps him.

Elsewhere, Aggie’s not happy to see Ed’s flash brother Ronnie at the house.

■ In response to your article about the move towards a cashless society (February 17), people will avoid going to smaller shops if they can’t pay by cash as that means making several small payments on your card.

It’s possible that banks will eventually start charging for every cashless transaction of less than £5. Also, it’s a way for third parties to track people’s movements, spending habits, finances and even their locality.

■ After reading a number of Darren Lewis’s columns on racism, I can’t understand the mindset of people who harbour any form of prejudice. If social media companies won’t take decisive action and the racist minority continue to spout abuse on these platforms, then perhaps decent people could arrange a boycott.

Surely social media companies would take note?
