Backing for uni courses really Epic
A US video game giant has endorsed courses at the Ulster University.
Epic Games, which created Fortnite, has now awarded Unreal Academic Partner status to the university’s Ulster Screen Academy, endorsing its Games Design and Animation programmes.
In support of this, the Screen Academy has announced a £1million investment in a new Virtual Production Facility at its York Street campus in Belfast.
Epic’s Linda Sellheim said: “As the global demand for real-time 3D skills continues to increase, Ulster Screen Academy’s digital media, virtual production and games design and animation programmes will prepare students for exciting new career opportunities in Northern Ireland and beyond.”
A CALF born with two extra legs has “survived against all the odds”.
The little bull, whose extra limbs hang from his top shoulders like ‘angel wings’, sparked a “safe new home” appeal that was shared by hundreds in recent days.
Nut House Hen Rescue & Re-homing said they were contacted by the farmer in Northern Ireland who welcomed him into the world as he wanted to find somewhere the “very special bull calf” could live out his days naturally.
A spokesperson for the charity told us his “forever home” was secured soon after the appeal was launched on Facebook. Details of where the wee man will be staying, however, are being kept private.
As for his name, they say Thor is the main contender, but nothing has been decided yet.
They posted on Facebook: “We have had so many messages enquiring about this wee man and are hopeful we have the perfect home.”
In their original post, they said: “I’ve been contacted by someone who is a farmer. One of their calves was born last year with six legs. The usual four and two that hang from the shoulders.
“It’s not practical for the farmer to keep him as he would have to keep him apart from all the others.”
