FANS FINALLY ALLOWED BACK

-

restrictions might be lifted on June 21, Wembley could be packed with 90,000 fans just 24 hours later, when England play their final group match of the Euros against the Czech Republic.

The FA said it was “absolutely delighted” fans would be allowed back and added: “We look forward to the return of full stadia as soon as it is safe and possible.”

Crowds of 10,000 could be permitted in 40,000plus capacity venues after May 17. And with a view to all restrictions being lifted on June 21, normal service may resume at Wimbledon, The Open golf at Sandwich, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and England’s cricket series with Pakistan (ODI) and India.

The EFL indicated its hope that both the Carabao Cup final on April 25 and the final round of regular season matches on May 8 and 9 could form part of the pilot programme. And they said it hoped “as many fans as possible” could attend the divisional play-off finals at the end of May. The FA Cup final on May 15 could also be a test event.

Manchester United will not see fans in Old

Trafford this season but Leicester could host Spurs in front of fans on the final day. Arsenal, Leeds, Liverpool and West Ham all play at home on that last afternoon.
